Doctors and Colleagues Complete 3,166-mile Ride Across America and Raise More than $65,000 for Smile For A Lifetime
Congratulations and a huge THANK YOU to Dr. Don Montano, Dr. Rob Relle, Abel Rivera, and Brian Dooley for finishing their cross country journey via bicycle from California to Virginia. The foursome has raised close to the goal of $70,000 for the campaign. (If you’d like to contribute, you still can as a way of thanks. See donation button on this page.)
Relle had an idea more than 18 months ago to cross the country on bike and convinced Montano to make the trek. Their journey is captivated on the video above.
The group traveled 3,166 miles through 10 states traveling on the famed Route 66 highway a majority of the way. They climbed a massive 156,000 feet over mountain passes while somedays averaging 20 mph through the plains. A travel van followed the riders with Rivera and Dooley taking turns driving the support vehicle.
The epic journey was highlighted by stops in Amarillo at the Cadillac Ranch and stop at Harwell & Cook Orthodontics, and, a police and fire engine escort into Eureka, Mo., at WaldeMiller Orthodontic Specialists.
The journey was sponsored by Ortho|Banc, McGill & Hill Group, Montano Elevated Orthodontics, ProBiora, and Dolphin Imaging and Management Solutions.

Dr. Rob Relle
For orthodontist Dr. Don Montano, and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Robert Relle, creating smiles is more than a career, it is their passion. They know first-hand that crooked teeth are the number one target for bullies and can scar a child for life. They also know there are thousands of families who cannot afford orthodontic treatment and an equal number of dental and medical professionals who want to help.
